Lucas Smith is the Head of Agile Services at Toyota Connected North America, and oversees a team of agilists helping Toyota define the future of mobility in the critical spaces of connected and intelligent vehicles, safety services, human to vehicle interaction, vehicle data processing, big data machine learning, and more.  Lucas is one of only 60 Professional Scrum Trainer (PST) in the United States and one of only a few who can teach all of the core Scrum.org classes.   In addition to being a Professional Scrum Trainer (PST) with Scrum.org he also holds the distinguished Level III Professional Scrum Master (PSM III) and Level III Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO III) certifications as well as holding the Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), and Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) certifications through Scrum Alliance.  Lucas has a computer engineering degree from Penn State University and a Master’s in telecommunications systems from George Mason University.

Lucas has over 16 years experience in software development, delivery, management, product development, coaching, and training.  He started his career with Boeing in Washington DC as a software engineer, tech lead, and manager before leading the agile transformation within his division of Boeing.  Lucas moved to Wisconsin in 2016 and worked with multiple clients and industries through Skyline Technologies as their agile trainer and coach before founding LitheWorks.  In 2018 Lucas joined Toyota Connected in Texas to help lead their agile transformation in the critical space of connected vehicles and infotainment. Lucas’s diversity of experience gives him a wide breadth of understanding that he pulls from in his training, coaching, and technical engagements.
